FUNCTIONAL BENEFITS + BEST TIME TO CONSUME
Evening (best use): A teaspoon alongside dark chocolate after dinner. The bitterness of the chocolate and the earthiness of the honey meet in a way that makes both taste more considered. This is the pairing Kikar honey was made for.
With espresso: A small spoon stirred into a short black or doppio instead of sugar. The honey does not sweeten so much as it deepens. The result is a cup that tastes like it took longer to make than it did.
Post-dinner ritual: On its own, slowly, as a deliberate close to a meal. The kind of thing you eat with attention rather than appetite.
Warm drinks: Stirred into warm water with a slice of lemon late in the evening. Grounding and settling without the weight of milk-based preparations.
In the kitchen: Brushed onto grilled meats in the last few minutes of cooking, used in dark marinades, or drizzled over aged cheese on a board. Kikar honey holds its own against bold flavors and makes them richer.
What it pairs with: Dark chocolate, espresso, aged cheese, red wine, whole grain bread, grilled meats, warm water with lemon.
What it does not suit: Light teas, delicate preparations, or anything where you want honey to stay quietly in the background. Kikar has too much presence for that. Use it where depth is welcome.
