PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Ajwain honey comes from the nectar of carom blossoms, a plant that has been part of Indian kitchens and wellness practices for generations, long before wellness became a word people used. The flavor carries that heritage without leaning into it. Herbal and warm, with a gentle sharpness at the back of the throat and a finish that lingers just long enough to feel purposeful.
This is not a mild honey. It does not disappear into whatever you mix it with. It shows up, and that is exactly the point.
Best for people who take their mornings seriously.
SOURCING
Our Ajwain honey is sourced from carom flower farms in northern India, where our Gwalior-based bee colonies are introduced to ajwain crops during their peak bloom window. The bees forage from a single source through the entire harvest season. No mixed landscapes, no blended batches.
What you get in the jar is exactly what came from the field. The flavor is not engineered. It is a direct result of where the bees were and what they found there.
FLAVOR PROFILE
- Taste: Herbal, warm, faintly sharp
- Finish: Slow and lingering
- Texture: Medium viscosity, pourable
- Color: Deep olive brown
- Aroma: Distinctly carom, earthy and spiced
This is a strong-flavored honey. If you are used to mild, generic honey, Ajwain will surprise you. Give it two or three uses before you decide. Most people find the flavor grows on them quickly once they stop comparing it to what they had before.
FUNCTIONAL BENEFITS + BEST TIME TO CONSUME
Ajwain as a botanical has a long association with digestive comfort and warmth in Indian food tradition. The honey carries some of that character. Not as a medicine, but as a functional food that earns its place in your daily routine.
Morning (best use): A teaspoon in warm water first thing. Wakes up digestion, starts the day with something intentional rather than automatic. This is the ritual Ajwain honey was made for.
Mid-morning: Stirred into ginger or tulsi tea instead of sugar. The herbal notes of the honey layer well with spiced teas without competing.
Post-meal: A small spoon on its own after lunch or dinner. Warm, settling, purposeful. Works particularly well after heavier meals.
What it pairs with: Ginger tea, warm water, light toast, chaas, lemon water, plain yogurt.
What it does not suit: Desserts, sweet preparations, or anything where you want the honey to fade into the background. Ajwain honey has opinions. Use it where that is welcome.
